Some good thinking has happened at Paris on environment issues. This is the first time some concrete derivatives has been achieved. A protocol has been made with everyone's agreement. So far it is good. Developing countries have been given some concession and rich have taken some more responsibilities. A good start for future of the world.
However where India stand on this? How much India is going to get benefits? Finally, will out come at COP21 matter much to India. Possibly no. India is not going to get any relief from environment hazards. With little progress on industrialisation, our environment is already bad. It shall be alarming once more industrialisation takes place. And India can not stop industrialisation if it has to feed existing population, leave alone future population. Every effort to move up gross GDP shall put environment at a risk. Delhi environment condition shall start seeing at other places. It is matter of time. India can not feed increased population at the rate it is increasing. Politicians are hiding themselves and are not showing courage to tell people that there is absolutely no alternative but to put a stop to population explosion to have stable population by 2040. Of course, we shall out numbers Chinese by 2022 with land size 1/3 of Chinese land. Do India have any way to bring up its 1/3 population living below poverty line? A big NO if population control is not done by enacting Law.
